Paid Surveys

Quality over quantity

Sure, there are lots of survey sites out there, but quite frankly a couple of top-tier sites will earn you more than a dozen smaller ones. Check the user ratings to see which sites perform best for other people, then join those first. Head over to the Top 10 to see my personal picks, as well as the ten highest rated and ten most visited sites.

Paid Survey Basics

What this is: Taking online surveys is a quick, easy, and risk-free way to earn some extra cash in your spare time while sitting on your butt at home.

What this isn't: This isn't a get rich quick scheme or a replacement for a real job. Don't quit your 9 to 5.

How it works: Corporations make loads of cash selling their products, but they're always looking for ways to make them more marketable. As a result, they shell out cash to people like you and me to find out what we want. Sounds simple right? That's because it is. They sell more of their product, we get paid, and everyone else gets higher quality goods. The wheels of capitalism keep spinning...

The problem is that, for a typical survey site, you are only going to get a nice, paying survey about once a week*. At an average of about $2-3*, that doesn't add up to much. But, by signing up for several survey sites you can turn that pittance into some useful cash. That's where I come in. I find and rate all the best survey sites out there and save you the trouble of hunting them down. You sign up for as many as you feel like and start pulling in some rent/X-Box/candy/denture money while you're waiting for that pirated movie to download. You're welcome.

Who this is for: Everybody! As long as you have access to the internet and aren't currently employed by any market research companies you can get paid for taking surveys. Now obviously some people will benefit more from this than others, such as teens too young (or lazy) for a real job, college students, stay-at-home parents, retired and/or disabled people, and people on government assistance. Basically, for anyone who needs money but is unable to hold a full time job for whatever reason (or if that job just isn't paying the bills), this extra cash can be a godsend. For everyone else it's probably a couple nights out on the town each month, some premium cable channels, and/or an a nice vacation once or twice each year.
